Eastchester is a town in Westchester County that includes the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. In 1664 ten families migrated from Fairfield, Connecticut to Eastchester. These ten original families were joined by 26 under a deed to “settle down at Hutchinsons”. By the following year, laws were established for the region under an agreement called the “Eastchester Covenant”. This document contained 26 provisions with items like: education of children, dispositions and upkeep of property, and support of a minister. By 1666 the settler’s 1664 patent was granted by Governor Richard Nicolls. At the outbreak of the Revolution, Easchester was a primarily a farming community.
Notable residents of Eastchester include Anne Hutchinson, Aaron Burr, John Adams, John Peter Zenger and Stephen Ward. Famous places include the Marble Schoolhouse, Hotel Gramatan, Town Hall, the Vernon Hills Shopping Center, and the Home of The Treetures.

Lake Isle Country Club is also another great place in Eastchester. Lake Isle is a Town-owned facility that is open to all residents and some non-residents. Lake Isle’s facilities include a swimming pool complex with five pools, two kiddie pools, an Olympic pool and a diving tank. Lake Isle also includes eight Har-Tru tennis courts, and a par 70, 18-hols golf course. There are also fast food and luncheon services. There are eleven parks in Eastchester including the Main Street Playground, Haindl Recreation Park, Joyce Road Park, Labriola Park and Leewood Park.
The Eastchester Union Free School District includes the Anne Hutchinson, Greenvale and Waverly Elementary Schools. The district also includes the Eastchester Middle School and Eastchester High School. The district offers art, athletics, community involvement, driver’s education and jazz programs. The disctrict keeps the students of Eastchester engaged with events like arts festivals, garden planting, trips to Japan, China, Germany, National Honor Society ranking and school plays.
